One of the key step to success is self-confidence. Remember life is all about achieving your goals and to win such competition, you have to be self-confident.

You cannot be a successful leader and even a follower without self-confidence. Those people who have self-confidence at work, school, and in any aspect of life mostly appears on top. Orison Swett Marden once said there can be no great courage where there is no confidence or assurance, and half the battle is in the conviction that we can do what we undertake.

Self-confidence people understand the impact of believing in themselves and relying on their abilities. They perceive themselves as able to achieve those things they set out to do. You will agree with me perception creates reality in our lives. With confidence, you can reach truly amazing heights; without confidence, even the simplest accomplishments are beyond your grasp (Jim Loehr).

Self-confidence is built from your learning and experiences. It is a result of constant work and dedication. As you achieved success from your initial confidence, it increases your level of confidence to do the next action.

Yes, be confidence that you can deliver that project, you can achieve those goals, you can do that work, you can win that competition etc. Do not allow someone’s rejection put you down.

Karen E. Miller said “When someone tells me “no,” it doesn’t mean I can’t do it, it simply means I can’t do it with them.”

Below, I outlined 4 actions that will help you believe in yourself and build more self-confidence.

Knowledge is an empowerment tool.

Self-empowerment via knowledge is one of the best strategies for anyone to build self-confidence. If you learn and practice more about the challenge or goal, you’ll be more knowledgeable and become more confidence. The internet, books, magazines and people around you can be great tool to achieve this step. If you want to be a great speaker, then learn and practice more public speaking.

Think about the past

You should always look at the great wins or successes you’ve experienced and give yourself credit for your part in them.  Recognizing your achievement is in fact healthy for the mind. If you didn’t win, you should not beat yourself because that will only make you feel worse.  Instead, be honest and ask yourself what you gained from the situation and what you lost.

Break major project into small components

Trying to take on a huge project or task can be overwhelming, daunting and intimidating for anyone, even the best of us. Instead, learn to break your major task into small bits. Small little achievements can make you feel good, and they add up to big achievements. Learn to work like this all the time, and soon you’ll see the strength of self-confidence in your actions.

Positive thinking leads to self-confidence

Positive thinking means approaching life’s challenges with a positive outlook. It is a mental attitude in which you expect good and favorable results. It empower you and make you feel stronger and more confident. The elimination of negative emotions is the most important single step you can take toward health, happiness, and personal wellbeing.
